Seattle left guard Luke Joeckel underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his knee and is likely to miss this week’s game against New York. The Seahawks are coming off a bye week, but it probably did not do enough to heal Joeckel in time to avoid missing any action. The veteran signed a one-year deal this past offseason and he did not miss a single snap in Seattle’s first five games during this 2017 campaign. But he has been dealing with lingering effects of an ACL, MCL, and meniscus injury suffered last October–which cut short his final season with the Jaguars, who drafted him No. 2 overall in 2013. Mark Glowinski, a fourth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, is a likely candidate to fill in for Joeckel. Glowinski started all 16 games at left guard last season for the Seahawks. Giants’ cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been reinstated after being suspended last week for a violation of team rules. That is according to Rodgers-Cromartier, himself. The veteran threw his helmet and walked off the field during an Oct. 8 loss to the Chargers and he also stormed out of a team meeting last Wednesday. Thus, he was suspended indefinitely, but “indefinitely” appears to have turned out to be just one game. And Rodgers-Cromartie’s absence did not hut, as New York pulled off a surprising 23-10 upset of Denver last Sunday night. Even without DRC, the Giants’ defense dominated en route to a big road win–the Giants’ first win of any kind this season, in fact. Jason Pierre-Paul had three f of his team’s four sacks and the visitors also had two interceptions in addition to a crucial goal-line stand. New York won last week despite compiling a grand total of 266 yards of offense. The home team will have to generate more this time around, because the Seahawks’ offense has impressive of late and will likely to continue to put up plenty of points. The ‘Hawks combined for 73 points in recent contests against the Colts and Titans.
