DFS NFL FanDuel Week 5 10/8/2017 : Mini Slate GPP Lineup Advice

Quarterbacks

Aaron RodgersRodgAa00 (1) – GB (Fanduel – 9500 Draftkings – 8100 ) – averages 21.5 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Dallas Cowboys on the road.    The over/under for the game is 52.5.  The Cowboys ranked number 17 against quarterbacks in 2016 and number 24 in 2017, giving up 14.7 fantasy pts per game. Aaron Rodgers in 2016 scored 11.4 percent more points on the road than at home. Through 4 games, the Cowboys have allowed 8 passing TDs which is tied for 4th most in the NFL. Also, opposing QB’s have a completion % of 65.6 which is 11th highest so far. With a projected point total of 52.5, Rodgers’ upside is through the roof in this matchup against the Cowboys.

Josh McCown – NYJ (Fanduel – 6800 Draftkings – 4500 ) – averages 12 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Cleveland Browns on the road.    The over/under for the game is 39.  The Browns ranked number 30 against quarterbacks in 2016 and number 29 in 2017, giving up 15.2 fantasy pts per game. Cleveland allows the 10th most passing yards per game so far this season. McCown has steadily improved as the season has progressed. His completion % has been over 70% in each of his last two games. McCown makes for a great value QB play if saving up to pay higher in other positions is required.

RunningBacks

DeMarco MurrayMurrDe00 – TEN (Fanduel – 6400 Draftkings – 5400 ) – averages 8.3 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Miami Dolphins on the road.    The over/under for the game is Off.  The Dolphins ranked number 15 against running backs in 2016 and number 17 in 2017, giving up 16.9 fantasy pts per game. Murray’s price has gone down drastically over the weeks and with Tenessees passing game being really rough as of late, it is expected Murray will get a lot of opportunities, especially in the redzone to succeed. Murray is a viable GPP play for this week.

Le’Veon BellBellLe00 (1) – PIT (Fanduel – 9500 Draftkings – 9500 ) – averages 17.2 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.    The over/under for the game is 44. The Jaguars have arguably the worst rushing defense in the NFL as they have allowed an average of 5.7 yards per rush attempt which is most in the league. Bell has had most of his value this season come in the redzone, which is really optimal in DFS, as he leads the NFL with 20 rush attempts and is 5th with 3 TDs when within the 20 yard line this season.

Frank Gore – IND (Fanduel – 6000 Draftkings – 4400 ) – averages 9.5 fantasy pts per game and takes on the San Francisco 49ers at home.    The over/under for the game is 43.5.  The 49ers ranked number 32 against running backs in 2016 and number 27 in 2017, giving up 16.7 fantasy pts per game. This is a great matchup for Gore as the 49ers allow 32.2 rush attempts per game which is 2nd highest in the NFL. Gore should have plenty of offensive opportunities making him a viable value RB option.

Wide Receivers

Jarvis LandryLandJa00 – MIA (Fanduel – 6600 Draftkings – 5800 ) – averages 9.5 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Tennessee Titans at home.    The over/under for the game is .  The Titans ranked number 30 against wide receivers in 2016 and number 31 in 2017, giving up 26.1 fantasy pts per game. Having a pretty similar role on Miami as Hopkins has on Houston, Landry’s  high usage and targets should lead him to having a similar performance as Hopkins last week with 10+ receptions and a TD.

Dez Bryant – DAL (Fanduel – 7800 Draftkings – 6500 ) – averages 10.3 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Green Bay Packers at home.    The over/under for the game is 52.5.  The Packers ranked number 32 against wide receivers in 2016 and number 11 in 2017, giving up 18 fantasy pts per game.Dez Bryant in 2016 scored 39.1 percent more points at home than on the road. In a game with a high projected point total, Dez’s  overall production should go up. In the two games that Dallas have played in which the total score has been over 50, Dez has averaged 14.5 targets per game.

Golden Tate – DET (Fanduel – 6700 Draftkings – 6300 ) – averages 10.2 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Carolina Panthers at home.    The over/under for the game is 44.  The Panthers ranked number 23 against wide receivers in 2016 and number 17 in 2017, giving up 9.2 fantasy pts per game. Tate has gotten a lot of targets and usage against poor pass defenses so far this season. Carolina allows the 4th highest opposing QB pass% this season. Tate can take advantage of these poor secondary numbers and have himself a good game at home against the Panthers.

Tight Ends

Austin Seferian-Jenkins – NYJ (Fanduel – 5500 Draftkings – 3500 ) – averages 6.1 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Cleveland Browns on the road.    The over/under for the game is 39.  The Browns ranked number 32 against tight ends in 2016 and number 31 in 2017, giving up 14.2 fantasy pts per game.Austin Seferian-Jenkins in 2016 scored 114.8 percent more points on the road than at home. Since becoming the #1 TE, ASJ has averaged 5 targets per game and 8.5 yards per catch. He has a solid matchup against the Browns and could take advantage of their pass defense who allows an opponent passing % of 73.4 which is 2nd highest in the NFL.

Eric Ebron – DET (Fanduel – 5200 Draftkings – 3100 ) – averages 5.1 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Carolina Panthers at home.    The over/under for the game is 44.  The Panthers ranked number 31 against tight ends in 2016 and number 5 in 2017, giving up 2.5 fantasy pts per game. Opposing TDs have caught 14/18 targets against the Panthers this season. If Ebron can get over 5 targets this game, there is high likelihood he hits 50 yards receiving and also a possibility of a TD.

Ben Watson – BAL (Fanduel – 5100 Draftkings – 3600 ) – averages 7.2 fantasy pts per game and takes on the Oakland Raiders on the road.    The over/under for the game is 40.  The Raiders ranked number 25 against tight ends in 2016 and number 24 in 2017, giving up 4 fantasy pts per game. Watson has averaged 5.7 targets per game in his last three which is quite high for a TE. With the poor RB situation in Baltimore, it is possible that Watson can get some redzone TD opportunities against the Raiders who have allowed 2 TDs to TE’s already this year.
