Fanduel NFL Week 5 NFL Picks 10/8/2017 New York Jets vs. Cleveland Browns DFS Top Picks for Fanduel NFL and DraftKings

The New York Jets have now won two straight after converting on 41-yard field goal in overtime in their 23-20 home win over the Jaguars last weekend. Josh McCown was shaky at times, completing 22 of 31 passes for 224 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. The 15-year veteran quarterback will not put up big numbers, collecting 826 passing yards with a 3:3 TD to INT ratio through four games. Bilal Powell was the key factor in the Jets win, slicing through the Jags defense for 163 yards on 21 carries. The 28-year old running back has now tallied 235 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Robby Anderson was solid for the second straight week, making three catches for 59 yards. The second-year receiver now leads the Jets with 204 receiving yards. The Jets offense has now scored at least 20 points in three straight games with a strong contribution from their running game. The Jets defense was solid in the win last week, holding Jacksonville to only 136 passing yards and limited them to a 4 for 15 efficiencies on third downs. Their pass defense has been successful this season however they are having issues against the run. The Jets have now won two straight and have been the underdog in all four games. The Cleveland Browns had no answer for Andy Dalton in their rough 31-7 home loss to the Bengals in their fourth straight defeat. DeShone Kizer struggled in the loss, converting on 16 of 34 passes for only 118 yards with no TD’s and one interception. The 21-year old rookie out of Notre Dame is off to a rough start to his NFL career, recording 764 passing yards with a poor 3:8 TD to INT ratio. The Browns could not get anything going on the ground again last week, rushing for only 45 yards. Isaiah Crowell only collected 20 yards on seven carries. Crowell has been a disappointment, averaging only 2.9 yards per carry and a total of only 134 rushing yards. Duke Johnson Jr. has been a bright spot for the Browns. The 24-year old running back has only recorded 57 rushing yards however he has amassed a team-leading 207 receiving yards. The Browns have yet to lead at any point in their four games this season. The Browns defense were clearly overmatched by the Bengals last week, conceding 350 total yards and four passing touchdowns. They have had trouble defending the pass and have only made two interceptions all season. Browns first overall pick Myles Garrett could make his NFL debut this week. It is looking like it is going to be another long season for this young Browns team. The Jets have pulled off two straight impressive wins against two decent teams, so I am confident they can take on the Browns who rank near the bottom of the NFL in points for and against. The Jets running game has been solid led by Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire which has allowed them to score at least 20 points in three straight weeks against some solid defensive teams. Furthermore, Isaiah Crowell has struggled to move the ball on the ground for the Browns and Kizer has not looked good, throwing only three touchdowns with eight interceptions, so I can’t see Cleveland scoring many points.
