Fanduel NFL Week 5 NFL Picks 10/8/2017 Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears DFS Top Picks for Fanduel NFL and DraftKings.
When rookie running back Dalvin Cook fumbled the ball at the Minnesota 29, he lost more than the just the football. Detroit turned the turnover into a touchdown, to win the game 14-7. Cook also injured his knee on the play and it was later found that he tore his ACL. Cook had rushed for 66 yards and the Vikings only touchdown against the Lions. On the season, Cook had 354 yards and two scores and looked to be a solid replacement for Adrian Peterson. However, once he went down, the offense lost its spark. Case Keenum went back to be a backup quarterback, who completed 16 of 30 for 210 yards with a quarterback rating of 76.9. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs also caught five passes for 98 yards. The Vikes wasted a very good defensive effort where they held the Lions to just 251 yards total and 154 passing yards to Matthew Stafford. But three Minnesota lost fumbles were the difference in the game. On the season, Minnesota is averaging 371.3 yards per game and 263.3 yards per game in the air. They are allowing just 71.3 rushing yards per game but 246.8ypg in the air. It certainly has worked for Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans. Playing a rookie quarterback can be dicey at times, but Watson appears to be one of the few who is ready. Trubisky was a stud at North Carolina and showed a lot of potential in preseason. Glennon was supposed to hold the fort for a year but in the NFL, there is very little patience. Glennon really struggled on Thursday night, completing 21 of 33 for 218 yards with one TD and two picks and had two lost fumbles. The Bears never really had a chance due to Glennon’s miscues. They held Aaron Rodgers to just 179 yards passing but he threw four touchdown passes. The Bears’ running game was also slowed down as Jordan Howard was held to 53 yards on 18 carries with a TD. Trubisky will need Howard (302 yards, 4 TDs) and rookie Tarik Cohen (393 receiving/rushing yards) to produce to take pressure off the rookie. On the season, the Bears are averaging 306.3 yards per game, including 117.5 rushing yards per game. Defensively, they are great against the run (85.5ypg) but struggling against the pass (220.8ypg). Mike Zimmer is a defensive-minded coach and will find a way to confuse the rookie quarterback. They’ll also focus on the running game and that’s easy to stop when you don’t have a lot of offensive weapons at receiver.
