Fanduel NFL Week 5 NFL Picks 10/8/2017 Baltimore Ravens vs. Oakland Raiders DFS Top Picks for Fanduel NFL and DraftKings
Former Baltimore Colts great quarterback Johnny Unitas once had a 47-game touchdown streak record that lasted 52 years. Joe Flacco has now gone through 10 straight games with at least one interception thrown. On Sunday, the Ravens’ woeful play on offense continued as Flacco threw two more interceptions. He did complete 31 for 49 but for just 235 yards and 4.8 yards per catch. Baltimore was down 19-0 and the angry crowd, already upset about their London performance (44-7 loss) and the kneeling protest before each game, showered the team with boos. The running game has been given a slight boost by Alex Collins, who had nine carries for 82 yards, but put the ball on the ground for the second time in three games. Defensively, they gave up 144 yards on 35 carries from Pittsburgh running back Le’Veon Bell. Baltimore leads the league with 16 players on the IR, but one player who is not is DT Brandon Williams. With Williams and Brett Urban (foot on the IR) out, the Ravens’ run defense has been ripped apart by Jacksonville and Pittsburgh over the last two weeks. Williams is not likely to play this week so the Ravens will have to rely on younger linemen Willie Henry and Carl Davis. Derek Carr took an awful lot of hits against the Redskins and it eventually caught up with him against Denver. The quarterback was injured in the third quarter with a back injury after he was sacked by Shelby Harris and hit by Adam Gotsis. The injury is believed to be back spasms, which means he could be back this week. With E.J. Manuel in, the Raiders attempted a fake punt on fourth-and-11 from their own 33 and punter Marquette King was stuffed by Jordan Taylor. Then King compounded things by receiving an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Yet Oakland bit the bullet as Brandon McManus missed a 29-yard field goal. Manuel completed 11 of 17 for 106 yards with an interception (late in the game) in relief for Carr (143 yards, 1 TD). Once again, Oakland’s running game was non-existent. as Marshawn Lynch was held to 12 yards on nine carries. The Raiders finished with 24 rushing yards and 230 passing yards. The defense was strong, as Cory James led the team with 10 tackles, including two TFLs. OLB Khalil Mack added seven tackles and two sacks. Mack has four sacks on the season and 23 tackles in four games. Carr is completing 67.9 percent of his passes for 753 yards and seven TDs. It’s assumed that Carr is going to play or there would be no line. But Manuel showed that there wouldn’t be that much of a drop-off. Flacco will have no time to throw with Mack in his face all day so Baltimore will have to rely on Collins, and he’s not the most stable back. It’s hard to imagine, after traveling from London back home back to the West Coast, that it wouldn’t wear out the Ravens.
