Pitchers

1c16923e_mlbamCarlos Carrasco CLE @ TAM FD $8,900 DK $9,700

Taking the hill for the Tribe in this one will be Carlos Carrasco and he has gone 10-5 with a 4.06 ERA in 22 starts on the year, including 0-1 with a 7.90 ERA in his last three starts and 7-2 with a 3.44 ERA in 12 starts on the road. Carrasco has gone 7-5 with a 3.51 ERA in 24 games (18 starts) during the month of August in his career and he is 3-3 with a 3.23 ERA in eight games (seven starts) against the Rays, including 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA in four games (three starts) here at the Trop. Cleveland has been a solid offensive team this year so far as they come in ranked 8th  in the league in scoring, putting up 4.83 rpg, while also ranking 8th in hitting at .260 and 21st in homers with 131. On the mound they have been strong so far this year as they come in ranked 4th in the league in ERA at 3.73, while also ranking 2nd in WHIP at 1.21. This is a very important series for the Rays are they came into having lost four of their last five, but despite that they are still just one game out of a wildcard slot in the American League. The big problem for them of late as been an offense that has scored just four runs in their last five games. Carlos Carrasco has struggled in his last two start, but that was vs Boston and New York, who both have far superior offense than that of the Rays, plus he is 7-2 with a 3.44 ERA on the road this year. Carrasco is also 3-0 with a 1.58 ERA in three career starts here at the Trop. Jacob Faria has been solid for the Rays so far and he is 3-1 with a 2.56 ERA here at home, but his mates have also scored just 3.00 rpg for him at home and the Cleveland offense has been solid this year.

Jimmy Nelson MIL vs. CIN FD $9,400 DK $9,900

Jimmy Nelson will take the mound for the 24th time of the season, targeting his fourth consecutive Quality Start. Nelson was nearly flawless in his previous performance, limiting the Rays to one run in eight strong innings and finished with the no decision. The 6-foot-6 right-hander is having an outstanding season, sporting a 3.24 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP accompanied with a 9-5 record in 141.2 innings logged. He has silenced the Reds this season, allowing only three runs in 14 innings, and now owns a 5-3 record with a 4.41 ERA in 67.1 innings against Cincinnati. Adam Duvall is 7 for 15 with one RBI against Nelson, while Joey Votto is 8 for 24 with six RBI’s, and Zack Cozart is 4 for 20. Bailey just surrendered 10 runs in his previous start and the Brewers tagged him for six runs earlier this season, plus he owns a weak 4.93 career ERA against Milwaukee. Furthermore, Nelson has limited the Reds to three runs in 14 innings this season, and he features an outstanding 2.43 ERA at Miller Park.

Rich Hill LOS vs. SDP FD $9,300 DK $12,200

Toeing the rubber for the Dodgers in this one will be Rich Hill and he has gone 8-4 with a 3.47 ERA in 16 starts on the year, including 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA in his last three starts and 5-3 with a 3.19 ERA in nine starts here at home. Hill has gone 6-5 with a 4.65 in 35 games (15 starts) during the month of August and he is 7-4 with a 2.28 ERA in 12 career starts in this park, while against the Padres in his career he is 3-3 with a 3.90 ERA in six starts. The Dodgers have been a very solid offensive team so far as they come in ranked 5th in the league in scoring, putting up 5.09 rpg, while also ranking 11th in hitting at .258 and 4th in homers with 166. On the mound they have been the best in the league so far as they come in with an ERA of 3.08, while also ranking 1st in WHIP at 1.11. Will the Dodgers be up for this series after coming in off a tough series in Arizona? It really doesn’t matter if they are or not because they are so deep that even if they rest players they can still win this game easily. Clayton Richard has gone just 5-12 overall on the year and he is 0-5 with a 7.03 ERA in his last seven starts, plus he has gone 1-5 with a 4.71 ERA on the road. He has decent lifetime numbers against the Dodgers, but is 1-2 with A 5.24 ERA in his last five starts against them. Rich Hill comes in pitching really well as he is 4-0 with a 2.00 ERA in his last six starts and he is 5-3 with a 3.19 ERA here at home. He will be facing a San Diego team that hits just .218 on the road against lefties. This looks like it will be a rather easy win for the Dodgers, who are 47-13 here at home.
