Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw LOS @ SFG FD $12,700 DK $14,300

Clayton Kershaw will toe the rubber for the Dodgers tonight and he has gone 3-1 with a 2.54 ERA.  in four starts this year, including 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in one start on the road. Last year he was 12-4 with a 1.69 ERA in 21 starts overall, including 4-3 with a 2.31 ERA in 11 starts on the road. Kershaw has gone 15-12 with a 3.00 ERA in 41 career starts in March/ April, while against the Giants in his career he has gone 18-8 with a 1.61 ERA in 36 games (35 starts), including 10-4 with a 1.36 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) here at AT&T Park. The Dodgers have been an average offensive team so far as they come in ranked 14th in the league in scoring, putting up 4.47 rpg, while also ranking 10th in hitting at .251 and 19th in homers with 19. On the mound they have been average as well as they come in ranked 14th in the league in ERA at 3.80, while also ranking 4th in WHIP at 1.19.

Michael Wacha STL vs. TOR FD $,7,700 DK $6,800

The Cards go with right-hander Michael Wacha (2-1, 2.41) here. He struggled last season and dealt with injuries but looks back to pre-2016 form. All three of his starts have been quality and he has gone at least six in all three. Last time out, he beat the Pirates in going 6.2 and allowing four hits and one run with three strikeouts. Wacha has been in complete control, not allowing more than two walks in a start.  After averaging 95 mph on his fastball in 2015 and then under 94 mph in 2016, he’s back up closer to 95 mph again in the early-going this season. He has added a new pitch, throwing a two-seam fastball that works as a complement to his changeup, Wacha’s best pitch. Only a few Blue Jays have ever faced him. Morales is 3-for-7 off him.

Julio Teheran ATL @ NYM FD $8,500 DK $10,000

Julio Teheran will take the mound for the fifth time of the season, looking to bounce back from a rough outing. Teheran surrendered seven runs including two home runs in four innings pitched to the Nationals six days ago and was tagged with his first loss of the season. The Braves Ace was outstanding in his three other starts this season, and is sporting a 3.52 ERA along with a 1.43 WHIP and a 1-1 record. He faced the Mets in his first start of the season and was tremendous, tossing six shutting innings and is now 7-3 with a stifling 2.21 ERA in 97.2 career innings pitched against New York. Yoenis Cespedes is 3 for 15 with zero RBI’s against Teheran, while Neil Walker is 2 for 20, and Jay Bruce is 3 for 21 with five RBI’s. Brandon Phillips continues to produce with his new team, recording seven hits along with two RBI’s in his last four games played. The veteran second baseman has notched a hit in all but two games this season, and is hitting a sizzling .343 with two home runs and nine RBI’s. Phillips went just 2 for 11 in the season-opening series against the Mets, and is hitting a solid .304 with 48 RBI’s in 72 career games against them.

Marco Estrada TOR @ STL FD $8,300 DK $8,800

The right-hander Marco Estrada on the mound and he’s a trade candidate this season as a pending free agent if the Blue Jays don’t turn things around. Estrada (0-1, 2.63) is getting barely any run support as the Jays haven’t scored more than two runs in any of his starts. He hasn’t allowed a run over 13 innings and just 7 hits over his past two, at home vs. Boston and Baltimore, yet didn’t get a win in either. Estrada continues to disrupt batters’ timing by mixing a great changeup with fastballs high in the zone. Estrada spent some time earlier in his career in the National League so some Cardinals have faced him. Yadier Molina has the most, going 13-for-24 with two doubles, a homer and five RBIs. Matt Carpenter is 5-for-19 with two doubles and three RBIs. Dexter Fowler is 1-for-5 with three strikeouts.
