Daily Fantasy Football NFL 2016 Week 6 Experts Defense/Special Teams top Picks for Fanduel & DraftKings
Welcome to the weekly D/ST column where we will be help you identify some of the top defense/special teams plays of the week. Having the right defense can make of break your week as many of the highest scoring lineups week in and week out check in with low owned, high scoring D/ST.
- Buffalo Bills ($4,800 FD, $3,700 DK) vs SF : The Buffalo Bills clock in as 9 point home favorites in a game that features a relatively low Over/Under of 44 points. As of right now the San Francisco 49ers have a low and underwhelming projected team total of 18 points. The Bills defense/special teams has been on fire the last three weeks as they have had 12 sacks in that span effectively ranking them 4th in the league in sacks. The Bills also rank 3rd in turnovers and are tied as the 5th highest scoring defense/special team unit in the league. The 49ers are tied with the Browns this week as they both check in with the leagues lowest projected team total for week 6. The Buffalo Bills are a strong overall unit and are in play in all formats on both sites this week as they get another prime matchup this week.
- New England Patriots ($4,700 FD, $3,200 DK) vs CIN : The New England Patriots come in as heavy 9 point home favorites versus a Cincinnati team that’s projected only 19 point in a game that features an Over/Under total of 47.5 points. The Patriots have shown that they can limit scoring opportunities and get a juicy matchup with a weak Cincinnati offensive line that has allowed Andy Dalton to get sacked 17 times this season. New England should have the lead for much of this game which means that Dalton will be under pressure to produce points likely resulting in turnover opportunities for the New England Patriot defense.
- Arizona Cardinals ($5,400 FD, $3,800 DK) vs NYJ: The Arizona Cardinals are another team that comes into week 6 as heavy home favorites. New York’s team total projection is currently a paltry 19 points and is an offense that is allowing the most fantasy points to defenses this season, averaging a whopping 3 turn overs a game. The Arizona Cardinals rank 2nd in the NFL in interceptions this year and are sure to be a low owned high upside defense resulting in a perfect Monday night hammer for your THU-MON slate lineups. You will likely squeak by with less than 8% ownership on your THU-MON slates as the masses will flock elsewhere and overlook an expensive D/ST unit.
- Tennessee Titans ($4,700 FD, $3,300 DK) vs CLE: It’s easy, just pick on the depleted Browns offense and lock in your points! Tennessee is a 7.5 home favorite facing a Cleveland Browns offense that is projected to score 18 points in a game featuring a relatively low Over/Under of 44 points. The Titans have been a stout defensive unit the past 5 weeks and are currently ranked a top 10 defense this season. They are just coming off a nice performance in which they came away with 6 sacks and 2 turnovers, showing us all that the upside is there for sure. The Cleveland Browns are one of the worst offenses, currently ranking as the 29th lowest scoring offense in the league. There is an outside chance that the Browns do not start Kessler this weekend and go with their rookie draft pick, Kevin Hogan, making this matchup for the Titans D/ST unit all the more attractive. The Titans D/ST is very affordable on both sites and are solid options in all contest formats (Cash & GPPs)
